My Story
Due to my experience with postpartum depression, I felt called to create Life After Birth® to give new moms a place to connect and make sense of their initiation into motherhood. I offer a process-oriented postpartum support circle that tends to the mother. New moms hit the ground running and don’t often take the time to acknowledge their metamorphosis into motherhood. My group is like a counterpart to mommy & me classes, which are typically more didactic in nature and focus on the child—their development, sleeping and feeding schedules, etc. These practical topics come up in our discussions, yet my circles attract women who prefer taking deep dives into subjects surrounding the drastic transformation from maiden to mother. Topics include, but are not limited to:
Birth Complications
Sex After Birth
Body Image Issues
Identity After Birth
Grief and Loss Issues
Breastfeeding Challenges
Discord with Partner and/or Other Relationships
Health Issues with Baby Including Time Spent in the NICU
My circle is for any woman who is in the throes of Matrescence (the psychological birth of a mother, similar to adolescence, involving hormonal and identity shifting). A woman could also benefit from my offering if she is experiencing Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder (PMAD), however, it is not a psychotherapy group designed to specifically treat a mental health issue such as Postpartum Depression.
I have been running my support circles f since 2017 at WMN Space in Culver City. I translated my signature offering into a virtual platform since March 2020. I currently have two groups: 1. Postpartum Support Circle (birth - year one), and 2. Conscious Parenting Support Circle (year one & up). It is clear that year-one of motherhood (or second-time moms re-entering that phase) has it’s exquisite challenges; whereas toddler moms are fraught with different challenges.
Life After Birth Testimonials
"Molly is wonderful! She has created a safe, nurturing, supportive space for new mothers going through the joys and challenges of the transition to motherhood. It has allowed me to connect with other moms on this journey and to know I am not alone. Truly a lifeline, I make this a priority for my self care."

"There are people who touch our lives at certain points on our life’s journey and we are forever grateful for having met them, Molly is one of these people. A few months after giving birth I was feeling alone on the path of motherhood. I was walking in the park with my baby thinking about who I could connect with and it was there that I met Molly who told me about her life after birth group. She appeared like a ray of sunshine from the dark clouds that surrounded me. Her group gave me a sense of hope, peace and community and her transparency, humor, genuineness, and empathy gave me strength and courage in my new role as a mother. Thank you so much Molly for being such an important part of my birth into motherhood."
With much gratitude,

"From the bottom of my heart thank you for holding space for us mamas at WMN Space every Thursday. It’s a highlight of my week and we plan our schedules around this group. Knowing I can show up every week and share my anxieties, fears, and mom-wins without being judged has helped me more than you will ever know."
